Booking Terms & Conditions

By booking on any of our classes you agree to abide by our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to make amendments to the Cookery Classes content and recipes without notice.

Your Status

By placing an order to attend a class through our site you warrant that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts and are at least 18 years old

What’s included:
Ingredients, utensils, knives, equipment and aprons are provided for all courses. Some meals are included in the class cost – please see appropriate class details for further information.

Application requirements:
You must be 18 years or over to attend any class.

Right to refuse entry or allow to continue a class:
As participants will be handling sharp knives and cutting equipment and the classes are to be held in a hygienic and safe environment the management reserve the right to refuse entry to any person to commence a class or at any time during a class to refuse to allow a person to continue the class for any reason whatsoever deemed to be sufficient to do so. Should it be necessary to invoke this right at the sole discretion of the management we reserve the right to make a partial refund of the class fee or no refund at all dependant on the circumstances.

Skill Levels:
We try to establish at time of booking the suitability of any course for an applicant. If you are unsure of the skill requirements for a course, please contact us so we can help ascertain your level of experience before booking. We rely on students being able to self assess their own skill level and are happy to assist with this but cannot be held liable if you book a course higher or lower than your actual skill level. Should an applicant be found to be unsuitable to handle sharp or dangerous kitchen equipment for their own or others safety then we reserve the right to preclude that person from undertaking certain activities within the class without any refund or partial refund. See also the paragraph above relating to ‘Right to refuse entry or allow to continue a class’.

Health & Safety & Hygiene:
All participants should wear shoes with flat, non-slip soles and covered toes, preferably leather. We cannot admit you to the cookery school without proper footwear. We recommend wearing sensible clothing ie not your best outfit – we are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing. Long hair must be tied back in the kitchen. All course participants will receive a short briefing on health and safety and good kitchen hygiene before commencing any class as well as a printed handout to take away.

Special dietary requirements, food allergies & illness:
We are unable to tailor our class content for special dietary requirements unless you have made a dedicated complete class booking of six people. We will be happy to discuss course content beforehand to allow you to make your own alternative eating arrangements if necessary. There is no reduction in fee in this instance.Please inform us in advance of any allergies, disabilities or illnesses which we should be made aware of.

Payment:
All payments should be made in full at the time of booking classes or purchasing a gift voucher and this can be done online using PayPal. We also accept payments direct to bank. We do not take provisional bookings and cannot confirm your place on a class until we receive full cleared payment.

COOKERY CLASS BOOKINGS

Upon successful completion of a class booking online or in any other way with us you will receive confirmation of your order by email to your nominated email address. Note:-Your order constitutes an offer to purchase our services and all orders are subject to acceptance by us. We will confirm our acceptance by sending you an email confirming that you have been successfully enrolled on the class chosen (Our Confirmation)

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift Vouchers can be printed online or posted to you but need to be validated with a unique reference number which is issued by us online and sent to your nominated email address on receipt of cleared full payment. On receipt the recipient of a voucher must contact us for a unique validating reference number to apply to the voucher and also provide us with further information which is requested (on the email detailing the unique reference number). Once the confirmation has been sent to you, you are obliged to provide us with the requested information.
(Note:The voucher has no value unless it is validated by both the full payment and a confirming unique reference number which has been allocated to it and confirmed to you by email.)
We aim to send vouchers out by Royal Mail first class post on the next business day if requested, however their services are outside our control and we take no responsibility for delays in their service to you.
We reserve the right to refuse any order. If no place is available on a class we will contact you to discuss alternative classes.

CANCELLATIONS

In the unlikely event of cancellation of a class by ourselves we undertake to offer a suitable transfer to an alternative date or class or a full refund of any class fees within 7 days. We cannot be held liable for any third-party or associated costs of cancellation.
If you cancel your booking within 14 days of your class and we are unable to resell your place in the time remaining you will forfeit any class fees associated with your booking. If a person fails to attend a booked class for any reason they will not be entitled to a refund or a rebooking on another course.

Copyright & Acceptable Usage

Full copyright of class content developed by the Bartholdi Cookery School is retained by the Cookery School. Course notes, reference materials and recipes are provided to support attendees with their ongoing cookery development and are issued for personal use only.

The sharing of course materials by print, press, photocopy, email, blogs, internet or any digital transfer medium is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of the Bartholdi Cookery School directors. If in doubt, please ask about what is and is not acceptable usage.
